Berlin is ugly but intense. And it is this friction that makes her so interesting while the body corresponds to the city's structure. Not until the existence of another next to oneself depth emerges, opening up a field of possibilities.
two texts being written onto the different sides of a single page,
recto and verso
And with this, contradiction gains entrance into the image of the city, being in the dilemma of two texts written onto the different sides of a single page, recto and verso. It always demands a third one to read it so that the city can join itself first and only in the eye of the outsider, the stranger wandering its streets of ruins and ecstasy.

On the one side, curling softly along the meandering shape and depth of the Rhine, stopping your old city centre from growing any further, where the grass truthfully seems greener on the other side with deep fields in front of old prestigious façades, while we are just walking on the concrete ground watching your water masses' continues flow.
where vanity reflects itself in mirrored glasses
Your city centre finds its second cut on the other side, existing in parallel, where man copies nature and train tracks divide your city fabric once more in space and money. And everything hereafter seems so distant and out of reach, like crossing into another town, the riches of which you seem to be so proud of in your streets and cafés, where vanity reflects itself in mirrored glasses.

Rusty-looking steel structures stand around like forgotten toys of extinct giants, endlessly forming the backdrop of your past, while culture tries to reuse what has been lost for coal and steel.
why culture has dragged itself into this abyss of past promises
Wandering underneath industrial relicts, one wonders why culture has dragged itself into this abyss of past promises. Closer to your centre in your streets of commerce and desperation, finding the last place of sanctuary in the paradise of your Minster, covering from nature's forces under archways of stone with faith on one side and an empty void on the other.
